EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME

How did the nativity scene or “belenismo” emerge?
Are there avant-garde cribs?
What it is an “artistic nativity scene”?
The Nativity Scene Museum proposes educational visits for groups of students at different levels, ranging from primary school to university.

Every Christmas, the word “nativity scene” resounds in our ears because it is part of the popular culture of our country. We are filled with a longing to recreate a part of the history.

But…how did the nativity scene or “belenismo” emerge? Are there avant-garde cribs? What it is an “artistic nativity scene”?

The purpose of these visits is for students to discover the “nativity scene movement” from an artistic point of view. They will be able to observe each detail of the handmade figures exhibited, interpret the meaning of the cribs and identify the traditional items that are part of the traditional arts and customs exhibition.

The Nativity Scene Museum proposes an educational programme that aims to make an in-depth analysis of the scenography and the iconography of the nativity scenes or “pesebres”.
